Meet Kim
Hi! I am Kim. I am a committed boy-mom, wife and owner of The Sunny Paper Studio. Several years ago I left a professional career in Corporate IT to better prioritize my family and show up for them in ways that foster their growth and happiness. Once I was home full-time I could not shake the itch to do something of my own. I started crafting at a young age with my creative mom and the joy it brings me never left. The Sunny Paper Studio was born! Now I focus on creating handmade paper items that bring a smile to others. I love the flexibility and creativity of my business and how it allows me to also show up for my family.
In addition to running the house, attending all of the sporting events and running my business, I also chair our elementary school’s Frosty Shop, a market of handmade gifts for the students to shop at each holiday. If there is any time left after that you will find me outdoors working in the garden, walking & hiking or at the beach – we try to get there as often as we can! Thank you so much for supporting my big dreams.
Crafting joy
Creating thoughtful, unique gifts is a journey for me, inspired by the thought of making someone smile. Each piece begins with a recipient in mind, guiding my artistic vision. I immerse myself in the search for design inspiration. Whether I discover the perfect existing design or decide to craft something entirely from scratch, each piece is then tailored to fit my vision. An essential and favorite part of my creative process is sourcing beautiful paper! My studio overflows with a variety of these materials. Experimentation lies at the heart of my creativity. I play with new designs and paper combinations, tweaking until I make something I love.
My creative journey doesn't end with a single piece. I continually repeat and adapt this process for different holidays and special occasions, each time crafting gifts that spread joy and celebrate life's moments.
